I’ve been working with Jackson for awhile, he is a very good surfer, nice style, pretty powerful and flows thru turns.
He surfs maybe a touch back on the board, and therefore probably needs a little flatter rocker in the tail, but so far we are just doing his preferred dimensions 5’9 18⅜ 2 3/16 around the 23.8 to 23.9 litres mark with the stock rockers and concaves.
Jackson is great to work with because he’s local and around a lot and because of his level he gives me great feedback that I can depend on to base any fine tuning for future improvements in the S Boards program.
He has tried a lot of models including Face Dancer, Early Bird, XFC and a new prototype Cooper Chapman board.
Face Dancer is the best board he’s had from me, it just suits him for whatever reason.

He also likes the Early Bird and the prototype Cooper board, but not as much as the Face Dancer.
To me, this just goes to show that there is no hard and fast rule as to what is best model to recommend for any particular individual.
It really is a matter of piecing it together for yourself somehow and making an educated guess.
It’s nice to think that at least in Jackson’s case he likes an existing model more than the new Cooper board which Cooper is enthusing about.
