When you’re on a good thing stick to it – Jim has an affinity with the DTS and we have worked on it thru the years to match it to Jim’s level and surf requirements.
Jim surfs back a little so therefore requires a flatter tail rocker or more area or thickness in the tail.
By surfing DTS he gains a little of all those elements which is why I think he has taken to DTS.
In Jim’s case he wanted a more versatile board than the standard stock DTS, which is essentially a small wave model for 1 to 3 maybe 4 feet.
Jim uses the DTS as an all-round small wave board for 2 to 4 or 5 feet surf. So we customised it by making a longer than normal DTS to the point it is pretty much a normal board but with a wider tail.

You can see that Jim surfs a little back in the stance.

This can be a lesson to us all, find a model you have an affinity with and then customise to get the most out your everyday board.

Jim’s DTS has single to double concave with a vee at the wide rounded square tail. The rails have a slightly flatter deck feature but still low soft and not boxy.
